Amazon is a multi- billion retailer. They have billions of customers from all over the world and millions of credit cards already in their system. It is a great platform for sellers to sell their products and make a lot of profit without handling any paper work or processing any order.
If you can't think of a product to sell, don't dispare. You can find a product that is already selling on Amazon, rebrand it and sell it as your own.
To rebrand your product, you will have to first find a supplier or a manufacturer who is making that particular produc. You will then negotiate with them to put your design, logo, label and your packaging on that product, then they will ship your order to Amazon fulfilment centre. Amazon will store your inventory, process all the orders and handle all the payment for you. They will even market your product and pay you your profit every two weeks.
Here is how you can do it;
Go to amazon.com then visit the best seller page to see which products are best selling. The page has so many categories so you can choose from the category that you like. After you find the product that you really like and want to sell, you will have to rebrand that product.
Now visit Alibab.com to find the manufacturer of that product. Negotiate with them on how much they will charge you, when you make an agreement, place your order.
Say you want to sell a Garment steamer that is already selling on Amazon for $30.94
You will then go to Alibaba.com to find the supplier of that
As a starter you must start with small order. Let's say 10 Garment steamers. This will depend on your budget.
If you order less than 100, you buy 1 for R278,91
R278,91×10 =R2789,1( you will buy them for this price)
On Amazon they are sold for $30.95 which is R449.55
R449.55×10= R4 495,5 (profit)
If you don't have enough money you can start with something cheaper with something cheaper like underwear, or even T-shirts.
Let's do the math for underwear.
Because underwear are much cheaper, lets start with a much greater quantity like 50.
Underwears are sold for $4 on Amazon, which is R59,92
Alibaba manufacture one piece for R15.08
Therefore: R15,08× 50= R750 ( total cost for all 50 underwear)
Then: R59.92×50= R2 996 (profit)
After finding a product and you are convinced that the product will make you money, you have to set up an account on seller central.Amazon.com. click register and set up on account.
When you set up an account, you will have two options to either sell as an individual or as a professional. Selling as an individual is free, however, I will advise against it, because it will require you to market your product and handle all the orders.
If you are serious about making money, you must register as a professional. As a professional you will have to pay a monthly fee and some additional charges. This is because Amazon will handle all the fulfilment for you, you are selling on their website, their team ship the product for you, the market and advertise for you and also handle all the payment for you.
After you have registered, you will have to set up a price listing. A price listing include the image of your product you are selling, the price and product description. And then Go live, your product is ready to be sold.
There are so many products that you can sell, you just need to do proper research, and understand all the process that goes with selling on Amazon. You need to be patient and also market your product on the side as well.
