How to be productive when you are feeling unmotivated

We don't always feel motivated. Sometimes you can sleep feeling like you are on top of the world and wake up feeling like the world is on top of you. Sometimes you just have zero energy, zero motivation and zero enthusiasm to work.  This is common to every single human being. Even people who look like they are hard workers do experience so many moments where they don't want to do anything.

If you are feeling less motivated but want to be productive. Here are some tips to go about it.

1. Clean your space
A clean space can make you feel better, enhance your mood, and give you some energy.

2. Get ready as if you are going out.
Take a bath/ shower, put on some makeup and get dressed as if you are going out. This will get you into the mood. If you stay the whole day in your pyjamas with messy hair, you will feel lazy and will not feel like doing anything.

3. Drink a cup of coffee to kick start your day
Coffee boost brainpower. The combination of caffeine and glucose activates certain sectors of your brain. Coffee will make you feel motivated to work.

4. Always plan your work the day before.
You must do this so that you don't waste time the following day thinking of what to do. After getting a cup of coffee get on with the task that you had planned out.

5. Don't multi-task
If you can not afford to multi-task, don't do it. Because you are not motivated, only focus on one thing until it's done. Put your attention on what needs a priority.

6. Accept that life is full of distraction
If you are distracted from completing a task you have set out for your self, don't despair. That how life works. You have to accept that some things are beyond our control, so if you are distracted, then don't work. Just take a rest.

7. Act with purpose
Always have a reason for setting up a task for your self. What do you want to achieve and why do you want to achieve it?

8. Avoid junk activities
Junk activities will eat up your time and serve as a distraction. Sometimes you need to keep your phone away from you so that you can be as productive as possible.

9. Do nothing and try again tomorrow
No one is always productive. The idea that we need to always be productive is not practical. Imagine if we never had to take a time off and rest, we will end up resenting out ourselves and our work, or our hustle.

In everything that you do, always prioritise your health. Don't push your self too hard to achieve what will not serve you any purpose in the next coming years. Always remember, your health is much more important than money.
